You know the old saying the first impression is the one that counts?
In reading John's posting about the FCF we have to remember this.
I'm not saying ever FCFer does, but think a majorty of them "turns
away" a member if he does not have the perido gear.
It gets to me in away when members are forced to pitch camp away
from the main camp, because they do not have a perido tent.
The number one excuse I always hear is we want the camp to look perido.
I mean come on since when did you have to have a perido tent to get into
FCF?
In simple terms we're telling members " In order to camp with us.You
HAVE to have a perido tent." That's a bunch of hog wash.
We are Christian brothers right? If we are shouldn't we be acting like it?
So what if member does not have the gear. Is that reason to stick our
nose up in the air? As Christians shouldn't we try and help those members
get the things they need?
Here's an idea for you all. Why don't you talk to chapter in to buying
some
tents? These tents could be owned by that chatper and sat up at events for
those members that do not have the perido tentage.
Folks we are not professional enactors in FCF. So let's get off the high
horse and make ALL members feel welcomed.
