Greetings All,

Wednesday, March First is going to be a very big day in my life, a very
critical day.
As I have corresponded with some of you, some of you may already know that
I'm going into surgery on this date. I have been experiencing many health
problems, mostly related to my weight. I have opted to have Bariatric
surgery. Not everyone believes in this surgical procedure, some call it too
new, though it has been around since 1940. My operation, I have done
extensive research on it through the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and
have had to make a choice. My health is on the line. Some people relate
weight related problems to a character flaw and that is just not the case at
all. More often than not it is due to issues of which an individual doesn't
have control of like genetics. Morbid obesity is a disease, not because
someone was lazy. I am morbidly obese, I weigh over 350+ lbs. I'm likely
heavier than anyone on any major athletic team.
This surgery is going to mean some major changes in lifestyle, as I will no
longer be able to participate in the one thing that I like to do most and
that is eat. Yes, I will have food, but hardly any of it. It is a choice
that I had to make and I had to weigh it very carefully. I've provided a list
of pros and cons about this surgery, just to pass on,

PRO CONS

I'm going to be in the hospital for 3 days and out of work for at least
a month. I would like to ask for your prayers while I am there and on
recuperation. My wife, mother, sister, and my friend Matthew, (who just
happens to also be in Rangers and a nurse at this hospital) and my Pastor are
all going to be there for me during the operation. ( I won't be aware of it
during since they will have me knocked out)
During recovery, I'll still be lurking about on the Rangernet, just won't be
very "Vocal" as i usually am. I just want to ask for your prayers and
support. I also want to thank you in advance for the same.
