Hi Duane,

> Ok.. German Rangers lead the way!
Maybe with trailrangers. But what I like about the new US-program is for
example the circular advancement system. I know that from Rob Hoggs and
Royal Explorers in Belgium, whom my brother is working with. This is a great
idea, german Rangers didn't recognize, yet.

> What are some of the traits of the older Trailrangers in Germany?
Sorry, I didn't get that one. What do you mean with "traits"?

> Do achievements hold their intrest or do they prefere a social group

I have been to the District Conference of Southern Germany District the last
two days. (Southern Germany is the biggest german district. 120 of 210
german outposts are within this district. It contains the german states of
Baden-Wrttemberg an Bayern (Bavaria). Southern Germany is what you could
call a "Ranger Belt". 90 of 120 outposts are in Baden-Wrttemberg most of
them in the Stuttgart area.)
On this conference I talked to the trailranger commander of another (bigger)
outpost. For our outpost I should have said they are preferring a social
group with outdoor activities. But this cmdr (who is the trailrangers
coordinator in our region) told me it depents on the commanders. He says if
the commanders are able to motivate the trailrangers they are interested in
achievements.
A trailrangers' coordinator is very important for our trailrangers. For
single outposts it is often impossible to do Ministry/Christian Service and
extreme sports. So if there is a coordinator this can be done on regional (I
think this is "sectional" in the US) level.

In my pioneers outpost for example we are doing a series of 22 devotions on
the Ranger Code at the moment. At the meetings each patrol will do a bible
study on the current rule. In the end of the meeting I tell them a story
from the bible showing how a person in the bible lived up to that rule.
