Perhaps in Australia it is customary for friends to slap one 
another with dead fish.  But in the USA we would think that
was rather odd:

Australian 1:  Goodday Mate!

Australian 2:  <Slap> (dead fish slapping noise)

Australian 1:  Nice to see you too!
