I have to agree fully with that above statement. We have men and women in the military that think the same way. When I was young in the Military I use to use this tape called Stick Witch. They carry it at Wal Mart. You tear off the amount you need. Place it between the cloth and the patch. Then take a hot Iron and it stick to the uniform. It is great for placing the item on the shirt. The draw back is you have to stitch it down or after a few times in the wash it falls off. You as a commander must look your best if you want your boys to look good. Please stitch the patches on or take them t the Dry Cleaners and have them do it for you.
Next topic.
Ribbons and medals. As leaders we work and work all year long with the boys to help them advance. We need to do the same thing. Record keeping is a must. Figure out the points you have earned throughout the year. Put your self in for the Leader's Awards. The boys watch and see you earn these Awards. As a boy I went with my leaders to a Leaders Training Seminar in S. California. I learned allot. But the one thing that sticks in my mind was watching all the commanders going up front one at a time and receiving their Awards. I at the time was wondering what they had to do to earn these and some day when I was a Commander I wanted them. Now as a man 20 years later I have been the biggest advocate in our section of these Awards. The boys watch. It is bad when the Deputy Sectional Commanders Does Not Even Know What The Awards Are And How They Are Earned.
When you have multiple Awards and you have Devices on your medals. You have to be careful on placing these Items on your Ribbons and Medals. Take a Straight Pin and slowly poke the holes in the Ribbon material or Medal Material. These Devices will snag the Ribbon and they will look bad. DONT DONT DONT ever use super glue to place the devices on. It looks bad and very unprofessional. Well there is my $1.95. God Bless and have a Great Ranger Day.
