I agree with what you have to say. I teach fire safety and how to make fires to my boys. I love working with fire and I take pride in doing it right. Just this last weekend the boys and girls in our church had a thing out at the State park on the Beach and when I got there I was questioned If I had a Axe with me or something. Well being a Ranger Commander this time I was not prepared to cut wood. So I went down to find out what was going on. So I go down to the beach where one of our commanders was trying to light the fire. Someone brought him some wood that was a little wet. He burned all the paper that he had. So I looked at the situation and knew all we needed was o build the fire right and it could be lit with one match. I took the logs that where there that had been used prior and built it from there. Without the use of oil type products. We need to practice with starting fires in the BBQ pit till you can do it. I live up here in Washington where it is wet and you need to be able to start a fire. Once you have good Knidling and you have it going well you can get a fire without the use of liquid fire starting fluid. I have been told I am such a boy scout by my military buddies when I start a fire without lighter fluid. They love to watch me do it.
God Bless

Subject: [RR] Fire saftey
All,
We talk about fire saftey. But how many of us practice what we
preach? I saw my own Sr. Commander poor kerosene on the
fire to "get it going". Just my 2 cents.
Later.
