With all due respect for your sentiment, it seems to me that it would be
easier to restrain the wind. I suppose I could disable RangerNet, but if I
did, the debate would just surface again on alt.org.royal-rangers or
another mailing list. That isn't the answer. Indeed, I'm committed to
keeping this list running so that we can keep the conversation going,
because man sharpens man as iron sharpens iron.

If you would like to steer the conversation to something more to your
liking, may I suggest throwing in an edifying conversation-starter?
Sometimes a simple question (like the one I asked a while back about
people's best experiences in Royal Rangers) can result in some very
interesting and edifying posts. People tend to respond to what they read on
this list. Give them something positive to respond to.

Yes, but how NTC is taught affects how the boys are taught, and how
effective we are in following Jesus Christ. When we follow Jesus Christ,
and the boys follow us, things work well, because they end up following
Jesus Christ.

Your point is well taken that we must not get distracted from our main
mission, which is the Great Commission.

In that case, why bother with it? We need to discard it or replace it with
something that WILL win souls for God! Parts of NTC are good. Parts should
be changed or discarded. The idea of a national training camp to train
commanders to reach, teach, and keep boys (and girls) for Jesus Christ is a
good one that can help us win souls for God.

Amen. That is what should be taught at NTC, using Jesus' teaching methods.
