We did a bowl a thon three weeks ago (for which you can get sponsors outside of the church body) as well and raised almost $500 and our spag lunch last week was almost $400.00. I will say this, this year we made a commitment to being a giving ministry (our first year we needed money for htis that and the other). We have pledged at least 10% of all our fundraisers to LFTL and our missionary OP 201 now sponsors. This first Wed of every month all the boys bring a little extra for LFTL, the second Wed the bring a little extra (and I am talking cents) for our missionary, and the third Wed they bring a canned or other non perishable item for the praise pantry. Since we've adopted these policies as of 01/01/00 we have had our biggest fund raisers ever. I believe we can all do this and see great improvement. Also the church knows of our commitment to others so that also might be why we are getting more.
