DO the best you can with who and what you have now. People are attracted to
success.

DON'T whine about lack of involvement or threaten to shut down the program.
People avoid dying programs like rats leaving a sinking ship.

DO pray the Lord of the Harvest to send laborers into His harvest, and let
Him do it.

DON'T gripe to the pastor or others in the church.

DO make Royal Rangers visible in your church with displays, uniform
Sundays, etc.

DON'T be obnoxious or haughty.

DO invite parents to help during meetings and special outings.

DON'T leave parents wondering why they are there or make them feel awkward:
give them something meaningful to do.

DO offer regular training for Royal Ranger commanders. It is OK to have an
excess of commanders. :-)

DON'T overwhelm parents with an all-or-nothing commitment from day one, but
let them ease into things with their comfort level.

DO keep child protection in mind, and keep two commanders with the kids at
all times when practical, or at least have a senior commander or outpost
councilman checking on the groups at random and reasonably frequent times.

DON'T get so desperate for help that you suspend child protection rules
(background checks, two commander accountability, etc.), as it is better to
combine groups or even shut down for a while.

DO be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
