I'm not sure what you mean exactly by event. If you have to plan a service
then the first thing you need to do is get about 3 other men involved.
Then, pray, follow God's leading and keep it FUN!
If its just an activity then you could plan to help the boys along on one
of their merits. Choose a merit with very little "book" work. You could
also help the boys earn their cut & chop card. (I got this idea from this
listserv)
If its a game you want you could set up a speedball field, obstacle course
(with a ZIP LINE!), sumo wrestling (get 16 large inner tubes and tape them
together four at a time, then have four boys step in to them [Michelin
man!] and run at each other, the lat one standing wins).
You could have a lashing challenge. Build a lookout tower, a rope bridge,
a lashed bridge (this is REALLY HARD!), or any other large lashing project.
Look in any youth games book, or in your leaders manual. There's games in
there that go over pretty well. Ask around for the best Powow event people
have ever done.
Now for the question. What is the best Powwow event you have ever
experienced? Pulled off yourself? Traditions at Powwow? I am helping
plan Powwow for my district in August and its my first one. TIA!
Good luck, or keep it in prayer and you won't need luck!
