Hi Rangers,
in summer 1998 I visited the US Camporama. I was amazed to see that 90 % of the
leaders were overweight. I thought "How do they manage to play a game with boys in
the woods?"
Part of our RR program is 'nature'. I think we as leaders should be good examples to
the kids in what we eat, just as we teach them not to smoke and not to drink alcohol.
So
why do we poisen them with sweets and candy and soda pop?
When we're out camping we can show them how good nourishment works and that it
can even taste good and we can explain what they do to their bodies if they eat bad
food.
God's Holy Spirit resides in our bodies, so we should not wreck the body by bad eating
habits.
