That is a different (and even more fun) thing, but it requires getting
an
FCC license to transmit. I think Spirit Rider was suggesting more of a
short wave listening (SWL) merit. That could involve listening to and
logging broadcasts from at least 4 different countries and writing to
get a
QSL card from at least one of them. HCJB (Heralding Christ Jesus'
Blessings) in Quito, Equador is a good one to listen for and write to...
Or High Adventure Radio
here in Europe at 0700 at 5975kHz.
Or TWR at 0800 at 6045 or 12070 kHz.
Or Angel 1 or Angel 2 by LESEA.
Also to listen in to Christian Hams that meet regularely.
Here we have a group called FCC they meet Sundays at 0630 on 3690kHz SSB.
