The Michigan, Henry Rowe Schoolcraft chapter FCF'rs, have created a
new ministry called RANGERS IN MISSIONS(R.I.M.),that puts Royal
Ranger men and boys together onto the mission field. In a nut shell, RIM
combines construction, evangelism, and camping into a ministry that not
only blesses a needy church, but it also changes the men and boys
who give there time and money.
This June(23-27) will be our third project. A team of
rangers will be re-roofing a 100 year old church, including stripping off
two layers of shingles and quite possibly a layer of wooden shake shingles.This
will be a job!! We will also be helping in the street evangelism, and in
the feeding kitchen there.
Mount Hope, Church in the city, is located in down town
Lansing Michigan, it is a light of salvation in a lost and dying world.
A large percentage of the people in this church are either alcoholics,
crack addicts, prostitutes, homeless, ect. In addition to regular church
services, Pastor Elmer Cox feeds up to 90 people, monday through
saturday, and has a weekly children's outreach, ministering to 150 to 200
street kids.
As you very well can imagine, with very few tithing members,
a leaking roof is a major problem. Royal Rangers to the rescue!!
Our team members will pay for most of the project costs($100 per boy,$150
per commander), but we will need donations to help pay for the project.
Any money that is raised above the project cost will go directly into the
Mt. Hope outreach programs.
