Hi all
yesterday I was plundering my attic and looked for my old C&W LP's and came
across my Johnny Cash collection.
Beautiful stuff.
Among them LP's I have the sound track of the Gospel Road, a movie about the
life of Jesus Christ made by Johnny Cash in the 70's.
( Before going to church this morning I carefully placed it down on the
turntable, removed the dust, aimed the needle and closed my eyes.
I was in heaven.
My wife said to me, rudely interupting the heavenly tunes and my bliss:
" Do we have to listen to this now ?"
She does NOT like anything C&W, except Henson Cargill's "Skip a rope". )
The cast consisted pretty well of all his family and entourage .
June Carter etc.
The one and only time I watched that movie was in 1975 at the EUROFEST 75 in
Brussels, Belgium.
In my opinion it was the best Jesus-movie around so far.
I might be biased a bit since I am a JC-fan.
After that I tried to purchase a copy of that film but I could not get a
hold of it.
And it seemed as if it had disappeared as fast as it had shown up.
This movie would be by now on video tape, if at all.
Does anybody out in RR-land know if this movie can still be aquired ?
I think the chances to still get it in the US, probably in some obscure
place, must be fairly good.
Maybe Bro. Duane has it in his collection.
I bet you have seen and watched it a hundred times.
it would be good to show at OP-mtn's.
Looking forward to your responses.
