Hello all,
Today my husband (Frapper) called me from work to tell me that one of the 13
yr old students hung herself over the weekend. Further investigation
uncovered the fact that the girl's mother was super critical and hounded her
daily for always being wrong or imperfect. The mother is single, lonely and
has a drug problem. The girl acted out in school and no one caught on. She
spent a lot of time in detention and sac which is a program of being banished
to a classroom of like students who are either violent or threatening.
She was not one of Wayne's students, but he knew her. This makes about six
kids we know that has successfully committed suicide. The question I ask is,
'How can a child get so hopeless, so low?'. I don't have the answer. Daily
they are pulling guns out of lockers, taking knives away from out of control
angry children. Now they have 'lock down' for narcotic dogs and possible
death threats. A week ago the whole school (6th,7th and 8th grades) had to
be evacuated because of two kids with pepper spray and mace filling their
classrooms with the chemicals. Several children had to be hosed down before
they went into the ambulances because of the skin irritants.
Some of you are teachers. I can't work because of the health issue any more,
so I tutor, work with rangers and write Flat Pan Jack stories. I'm like you,
I want to make a difference. Pray for the teachers. Never before in
history, has this job been so very dangerous....as dangerous as a fire
fighter or policeman.
Like the motto, be READY FOR ANYTHING, you are going to see more really
troubled boys than ever before, more anger and rage, even deliverance
ministry. Be ready, the devil is like a scalded cat cornered. He is in your
face. You will either give up and throw your hands in the air or you will
dig in and fight for the precious souls of the boys. Keep up the good work,
men. Don't 'swallow a camel and gag on a gnat', there's not time for the
little stuff. Go ye, and preach and live the gospel. No regrets.
