All,
We talk about being committed. What is commitment?
Is it showing up ever week in uniform ready to teach?
Is it being at ever Ranger event you can goto with your
boys? Is it standing by and helping Johnnie through his problems?
I remember when I became a Outpost Commander.
At the start I didn't know swat about teaching camping skills, ect. One of the first merits the boys worked on was tool craft. Before I could the saftey to the boys. I had learn it myself. Only after I felt comefortable with it did I teach the boys.
I also remember going out for FCF. I had been out of Rangers close to two years(Father's illness).
Going out for FCF, I basicly had to learn EVERTHING in a months time. I know when I went Buckskin. The Presidnet told me I put more into Buckskin. Then most of the other guys. That statement told me alot. The biggest was I have commitment.
So it possible to be a leader without commitment?
Yes,  but commitment causes Rangers to grow. It sits a stander and an example.
