Many people dream of "The Perfect Outpost." The perfect outpost would have a "True
Leader," but sometimes Royal Ranger commanders don't realize that the True Leader is
the boy that shows Interest and, asks questions, or boys follow his advice.
As Royal Ranger GMA 3911 I have helpful advice for Leaders in search of The
Perfect Outpost or A True Leader....
*First Leaders: Look for the boy that seems to "Get along" with all the boys in your
outpost. His personality usually can change with ANY situation a boy tells him.
*Second after a boy has put himself through training (Like GBT, JLTC, JTT, ect.) Use
him, But! only if he is ready..
*A boy like a Commander can look like he can go forever but also like a Commander he
can burn out too. Change boy's around create a Senior Guide Staff (SGS), And tell the
Boys every one in the SGS have control.
*Commander: You find yourself doing Dues, Flags, Even Cheers! Take ALL your "HATS" and
give them to the boys even though you might not trust that..
*Put Trust in your boys!! I knew if my Commander trusted me with importaint jobs that
might of effected me as a ranger I put all I could into making sure it was done RIGHT.
*IF you want to go on hikes and campouts besides your section or Dist. Plan them, DO
them, Make it happen if your running around the room breaking up fights or Yelling
"SIT DOWN" you as a commander can't plan that dream hike.....
*....The boy with a win/win attitude and has Training, and can talk to your boys
without you getting "Stipped Throat" has already got your boys hooked into rope craft
because your boys can relate to A True Leader and so can you..
SO...Already you've found and called that BOY and told him that he needs to cordinate
dues, Flags, Cheers, ect.. and probally when that WED. roles around or FRI, MON, SUN,
whatever! you have got something planned for next SAT. afternoon...
TRY IT OUT! IT MIGHT JUST WORK?
