Last night Pastor Cody spoke on the Bible as a mirror using for his reference
be ye doers not hearers only. Spoke about how about how the "hearer" heard,
but walked away forgetting who he was.
He compared that with a mirror. There is a mirror in the hall in our church,
now men take a quick glance, maybe smooth their hair and walk on, but women
will check and make sure that everything is in place, no smudges, no mussed
hair, maybe a little spritz of something to glue whatever hair is stray in
place. What is important is not the time involved, but the changes made.
When we read our Bible he said it is to be a spiritual mirror that will tell
us what shape our spirit is in, so that we can set to rights the smudges and
strays that life has brought upon us (much like walking from our car on a
windy day, when we get to the mirror we fix it, women carry compacts for on
going maintenance).
When he was done he asked us to stand and open our Bibles to wherever they
opened and look deeply into the mirror.
My mirror opened to 1Chronicles the last half of 16 to the first half of 17.
My mirror showed me that I am great at praising the Lord and witnessing...in
church or with Christians...but that I was sadly lacking in the telling the
nations part. There was a promise there also "What ever you have in mind, do
it for God is with you."
We have more than doubled in size in our OP. But we are believing for a lot
more most especially spiritual growth. To achieve this I am going to have to
do more than be a good commander in church. I must go out testify, witness,
and be a commander to the world or at least my part of it.
Right now I wish to repent before the Rangernet for not being as bold as I
should be for not reaching out and drawing in as I should. I ask for
forgiveness for spending so much time in my comfort zone. Pray that I can
make the changes needed and set myself to rights, with God's help.
Pastor gave a call for all of us and called me up first, needless to say I
was doing carpet time especially when he said how God looked at me and saw
the ravages and then he (Pastor as representative of God) was smoothing my
hair and setting things to rights.
I encourage each and every one of you to open your mirror and look deeply.
God bless.
Kelly
