I enjoy hearing about the events of interior Mizzourah, and having
been there twice.. was always happy to come home<G>
*Here's some news that won't make the Bellville News Democrat!
A Springfield,Mo. trucker and his wife were running west on I-84
through the Columbia River Gorge at The Dalls,Oregon with a
40 ft load of toxic defoliant.
The Trucker, who is probly a fine family man ect. fell asleep after
pushing through a long dark night, hit the divider, fliped over and caught
fire! His load spilled out... and concetrated defoliant went flying accross
the hyway and into 15 mile creek about 50 yards away from the largest
salmon spawing river in North America!
The diver and his wife survived... but now a clear running stream is
dead and the clean-up may cost millions!
The reason this "might not get covered" in Missouri, is because the
driver was cited and now has his licence suspended pending charges
of wreckless driveing... This happened 2,000 miles west from your
hometown, accross the Rocky Mountians, the Blues, the Wallowas
and the Cascades.
*Sometimes we only think about our "world" that we can see, touch and
live in on a daily basis.. You may never visit an Oregon stream to see
a steelhead trout, or chinnok salmon... But they exisist!
I noted that this driver, was "only trying to do his job" ..and made one
mistake in judgement and now is being detained for an "envriomental crime"
What do you think about that?
