I think you are right as well. Listen to many of the older songs by Kansas
- The Wall, Carry On My Wayward Son, etc. These all have Christian
overtones. In face, Kerry Livgren, who wrote most of their songs became a
Christian many years after Kansas became popular, and he told the story
that he felt he was searching for something while he was writing songs
(before becoming a Christian), but it was not until he became a Christian
that he understood what he was looking for. There are many others as well
that follow in this vein. There are many, though, that do not.

Subject: [RR] Secular Music and Gospel music

Y'all,
Hey there I got a question on Secular music.

I feel it in my heart that it is okay to listen to some secular music out
there. Depends what song it is, and who sings it all matters. I not going
against my Yth Pastor, I feel what he is saying that you shouldn't listen
to secular music. I meant to get more input on this, but I felt to keep my
mouth shut. Just in case I sounded like I was arguring with him. Isn't it
okay to listen to some secular music? Close to where I live we can have
Soft Rock 102.5. They play decent music. I feel a Christian can listen to
secular music if it is clean.
John
