I do not know if the news crossed the pond but because of the continuing rise in fuel prices farmers and lorry drivers blockaded the oil refineries to try to force the government to reduce the tax on fuel (in the UK more than seventy five percent of fuel costs go to the government in tax. In less than one week the country was on the verge of a standstill.
 
Last year I visited the US I enjoyed my > 2000 mile drive (New Mexico to Washington State via Colorado). I was grateful not to have to pay the fuel prices we have over here but...... One day, unless Jesus comes first, the oil WILL run out. I know that cheap gas is part of "the American way of life" but you cannot bury your heads in the sand. Think about it.
