Given half a chance the redcoats would desert. English society has been
cursed by elitism over the centuries. To our credit, however, our government
has managed to evolve thus eliminating the need for revolution. I have heard
a similar expression, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.
A continuing thread throughout history is the capturing of loyalties. One of
the greatest fears of European royalty was the allegiance of Catholics to
the Pope which led to the Guelf, Ghibelline wars. The reason early
Christians were persecuted was their refusal to accept Caesar as lord. As
far as I am concerned God created mankind and all other loyalties are false.
