I am living right on the border between Europe and Asia. It is Ural
mountains here. My city is on the same latitude as Moscow, just about 1600
km to the East from it. And of course Siberia is a loooong looong place. And
I am living only on the Western corner of it. It take about 4-5 days on the
train to go through all Siberia. Like, if the land down under is roughly
about 3,800 km long, the length of Siberia varies from 5,000 to 6,000 km. To
the north hardly no one lives there. And the only transport they got is
helicopter coming once ir twice a year. It's like I read one hike report.
Guys met people living in Teepee along the rout. And they ask these people,
how often do you see people here. And the guy says, "Pretty often. Last year
we seen a helicopter". It's probably pretty much like Indians. Only
cccccooolllddeerrrr. Like in one town called Yakutsk right now is -50 C
(its -58F). I just can't imagine this cold. And we have here -10C (which is
14F) right now..
