Hey all,

Have you heard guys about Lunar eclipse on the 9 January? Should be pretty good one. If no clouds interfere of course.

I think guys from Eurasia, Africa, UK and the West cost of  "down under" will be able to see it very good. North-East cost of America might spot the end of it at the Moon rise, but to be sure you have to check Moon rising time in your place.

Partial eclipse begins at 18:42 UT (I guess, London time) on January 9th
Total eclipse begins at 19:50 UT
Total eclipse ends at 20:52 UT
Partial eclipse ends at 21:59 UT.

You can easily calculate time in your place from that. Like, in West Australia it's going to be 19:50 +8 hours = 10 January 3:50 am  (it might not help Larrikin though, he's living in the East  part :-(  )

In Partial eclipse phase you won't see a lot of changes (for those who don't know). Real stuff is when Umbra comes at the Moon, which will start shortly before the Total eclipse time.

It might be an interesting project for rangers too.
