Greetings in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Yes, we are in Texas, and I am deep into classes at the Graduate Institute
for Applied Linguistics. We thank God for His faithfulness in bringing us
here. I have great peace that this is where we are supposed to be, right
now. It is wonderful being with other missionaries with similar vision. We
are making strategic contacts as well as gaining the training I need. While
Lori is home-schooling Nate, Ben, and Evan, I attend class, study, do
homework, and study some more. The academic load is intense, but the cause
is important and stakes are high. I guess the homework is what snaps me
back to reality when I might tend to float too high in the joy of the mission.

Last week, in chapel, I had the opportunity to pray for several sick
people, including another missionary who was diagnosed with a nasty variety
of Leukemia. I invited her and her husband over to our house this week to
share more about divine healing, build their faith, and pray with them in
an environment of faith. I ask you to agree with us in prayer, believing
for complete, lasting, and quick healing, and thanking God for hearing and
answering our prayers to that effect. This couple has a definite call on
their lives as missionaries to a sensitive area of the world, and I refuse
to let Satan steal that mission from them by attacking her body. So far, a
blood test has come back clean, and I'm believing for a clean bone marrow
test when the doctors do that, too.

When they came over to meet with us, the saw me practicing what I preach
about divine healing. At that time, I was (and still am) believing for
complete healing from my injuries last Sunday. I was with my family,
playing in the woods on a hiking trail near here, intending to have a
little fun before finishing my homework that afternoon. In the process, I
made a slight error in judgement in how fast I could run down a certain
hill, tripped, and fell so hard that I ripped my right elbow out of joint
and chipped some bone, as well as scraping up my face pretty badly. The way
I fell, I thank God that I didn't break my neck. (If you saw the fall, you
would know that was a real possibility.) Lori and the boys handled the
situation well, got an ambulance for me, and showed the paramedics where I
was on the trail so they could carry me out. On Monday, just when I was
thinking it was only a corrected dislocation and not a broken bone, the
hospital called and told me that the noticed the fractured bone on the
x-ray and wanted to make sure I got immediate follow-up. Needless to say, I
didn't look much like a divine healing preacher when our family met with
the other couple on Tuesday but I spoke the word of God on the subject and
encouraged them, anyway. I believe they took hold of the Word of God in
faith. Either I must be crazy or I really believe the Word of God to preach
healing with a bruised and scabbed face and an arm hanging in a sling and
splint. Anyway, I'm believing not just for complete healing with no
problems, but supernaturally quick and complete healing in such a way that
it becomes an encouragement to others, especially to Steve and Georgia. For
them, it is a matter of life and death, completing the mission God has
given them or not. I wish I could adequately convey the righteous
indignation I feel towards the enemy's attack on my brother and sister in
Christ, right now. I believe that Jesus Christ has already won the victory,
and I ask you to join me in a round of rejoicing, thanking and glorifying
God for his answer to our prayers, right now, even before we see the
answers to what we believe for.

In the mean time, also please rejoice with me that not only did the
orthopedic surgeon remove the splint, yesterday and tell me that I don't
need it, but my right arm has healed enough to where I could write with my
right hand in school, today and I'm even typing two-handed, right now.
Glory to God! Please pray for me for grace to catch up on my homework. I
missed no school due to this injury, but time spent caring for my arm
didn't fit into the study schedule very well.

Blessings to you.

Eph. 1:15-23; 3:14-21
