*There are two things you MUST become good at-

1.Knowing when and how to study
2.Takeing the test.

YOU CAN DO BOTH!
---------------

When and How to study...

1. Create a study space.

Find a place in your home where you will not be distracted by sounds
and people.. where you can go.. lay out your work and have all
the suplies handy to do your work.

2. Ask your family to *respect your study time.

Make up a "Do NOT DISTRUB" sign and ask Mom and Dad to
support you and keep things in order. *They may even
have to wait on watching TV till you are done!

3. Find your best study time.

Look back on low point tests and remember how you prepared..
adjust what you did to how you prepared for a better grade,
do that again! *If it was early morning do that.. just find
time for yourself to study!

4. See if cramming works-

Cramming- is studying intensely just before the exam for an hour
or more. Daily study is another option, but a recent study showed
that students who read their notes and material TWICE the night
before remembered more and recived a better grade! If it works..
use it<G>

5. discover your persoanl learning style-

People learn by four methiods:
*Hearing *Sight *touch or kinesthetic
 (*motion- like cheerleading moves)

The least effective is *lecture (RR LTC!)

6. Make a study tape-

Read the questions to the tape and pause between..
play it back and answer it in your own words<G>
useing notes... *This is called a drill..

and *practice makes perfect!

7.Use Flash Cards-

write the question on one side.. the answer on the other.
carry them around and when rideing the bus, look at them<G>

8.Become a TEACHER!

*Say you have trouble learning...but have an opportunity
to share with others on the internet like Rangernet<G>

Writeing down your thoughts, feelings and shareing things
you have found helpfull with others build a inner resource
for tough challenges that may come in life!

Explain tough concepts to your Mom or Dad, grandparents,
friends and your *Patrol! *as you teach, you LEARN!

9. Form a study group-
(*In RRanger we call this a Patrol)

Be Honest! Did you study or just play?
If it was good for you use it, if not change it!

10. Think positive! *PRAY!

Take baby steps when the going is hard.. and take
leaps when it is easy<G> God provided the space
between your ears to *THINK ...use the force wisely!
