The day started quiet as the sun rose over the
Cascade mountians. The Berries were not yet
ripe so the people of the river remained busy
drying the Salmon on racks along the river.

High on a thermal a Red tail Hawk circled the
land of the longhouses. The land was rich in
game and great beauty. Tonight at the council
fire the elders will tell more of the stories
that light the dreams of the youngmen.

>From the south, news is told of the black hoods
and missions further south in the dryland. But
along the shores of the great waters, things are
as they have been for a thousand years.

We listen.. and hear the wind...
We watch and the rivers carry to the sea.
