The real problem is... that it IS you who is buying all this, as your posts attest. And it is you who are conforming to the way this world does things by doing so, buying the story that is being told, and saying that we can't use these things for the glory of god. All things were created by God. Like I said before, satan has taken every bit of what he can and corrupted it. If we were really fulfilling our destinies, we would be using EVERYTHING here to His glory. There would be NOTHING that was not at our disposal to that end. Everything that the devil has used is a corrupt imitation of what God has given, Therefore everything that the devil uses we should be using against him. Just like Haman was hung on the gallows he built for Mordecai (just think of it-such an evil thing as a gallows-used to save the Jewish race-god's chosen people); just as Goliath's sword was used to cut off his own head; just as the cross that satan used to kill our Lord on, now is the altar we go to gain the victory over all his devices; so we should be using every tool that satan has against him. This is the illustration that God has given us in his Word over and over again. If we are too blind to see that then we need our eyes opened. For us to say that these things cannot or should not be used for the Kingdom of God is to deny His power, make His Word a lie, and to exalt ourselves above Him by refusing what he has given us to be used at our disposal, saying it is not fit or we don't need it. Satan was the worship leader in heaven. He had musical instruments built in to his body. Pipes and timbrels. Ezek. 28. He has taken that ministry that he had and used it to glorify himself through music. Should we not use this tool to defeat him? What God's word shows us to do is to take the enemies weapon and use it against him. God has chosen the foolish things, the base things, the weak things, to defeat the wise, the exalted, the strong. 1 Cor. 1: 26-28. It is not for us to worry about whether it will be confusing, God will take care of that part. It does not have to make sense to us, because we do not understand His ways. It's OUR mission to reach those that are lost with the gospel. We are

We are to live our lives above the standard that the world has set for
itself and show the love of Christ in every action, reaction and every
spoken and unspoken word we utter.
We're the Jesus they'll see here on earth.
Our mission as Ranger Commanders is to reach, teach and keep boys for
Jesus Christ. Using tools that are inappropriate for our current
culture, which, can, in fact hinder attainment such goals, has no place
in our Outposts.
Perhaps the culture in the 70's supported the Knight theme, but no
matter how grandiose it may have been in theory, the culture today
correlates Knights and the Round Table with Merlin and King Arthur...
and worse yet... D&D... role models that have no place in our
churches.... and certainly not part of the Royal Ranger charter as
something parents expect their boys to learn about on Wednesday
evenings, not to mention PowWows where they've entrusted commanders with
the physical, social and spiritual wellbeing of their boys.
Let's not lose focus on "Keeping the Main thing the Main thing" as A#1
would say. Adding a measure of confusion to boys, such as "don't do
D&D, but Knights of CORR" are ok... certainly seem to be an added
trouble we don't need to bring upon ourselves... especially when it's
not even supported by the National office any more.
Having said that... I will not dispute the fact that back when it was an
active and supported means of keeping boys in Rangers, it was used as a
tool for leading some of those boys to Christ.
Since this thread started originally with Commander Harris merely
wanting to connect with former members of that organization, I also
readily admit that there is absolutely nothing wrong with trying do
connect with folks you've worked and served with in the past.
These threads, at least the portions posted from my keyboard, were
intended as fact finding in nature.
At no time have I felt offence at the posts in response to my own posts,
or even the original posts.
FOUL was the word that fit, due to the smell of something that reeked of
impropriety due to the D&D epidemic and TODAY's culture, not that of the
culture of 1973. Because of TODAY's culture, I don't want to step near
such practices in Rangers. It would confuse the boys.... and cause
great concern with the parents.

The portrait that we see portrayed about medieval times is just the
same-a lie from Satan. We buy it hook, line, and sinker. And based upon
these lies we make our judgement about what should or should not be a
part
of God's ministry. The same God who created all things, gave the
inspiration
for everything that ever was, is, or will be, and us petty little humans
have the audacity to tell Him what, where, and how we will use it.
