<<< *Just noticed an attempt by rich folks to throw up a negitive ad to discredit Sen.John Kerry's first purple heart. >>> Rich folks? First of all, Kerry is richer than all of them combined. I haven't seen any evidence that any of them are rich anyway. Of 19 swiftboat commanders that Kerry served with and posed for a group photo with him, only one supports his bid for president. The opinions of the rest of them are STARTLINGLY negative. They aren't all Republicans either. There are several Democrats and Independents in the mix. ...And, by the way, they're not just questioning the first medal. Over 250 Swiftboat veterans have signed an open letter to John Kerry challenging his fitness to serve as commander-in-chief.
<<< 4 years ago when Sen.McCain won the New Hampshire primary the Bush backers claimed that voters should wonder if 5 1/2 years in a NVA prision would "detract" from Mc Cains basic package when under pressure as commander in chief. Mc Cain is now traveling with Bush this week... That's a credit to the man's Character! Today, these same evil doers rejoice at finding other ways to monkey wrench the minds of Americans. >>> Michael Moore is PURE monkey wrench along with most of the left leaning media. <<< *Here goes- I was a Navy seaman assigned to the USS Mars combat stores ship off the coast of Vietnam in 1970. *If a VC/NVA action had blown a chip of paint into my arm... That would have been an enemy action, and following treatment and reporting warrented a Purple Heart. *Likewise- Jan 25th 1968 Royal Ranger Mitch Silvers PFC USMC enguaged in a hostile firefight with VC/NVA units in a small village and was killed by hostile fire. *That was awarded a purple heart... >>> So, is the paint chip guy a bit embarrassed about the details of his own Purple Heart in the face of a sacrifice like Mitch's? Does he just keep it in his sock drawer and tell his grand kids that it was just for a paint chip but show them only as important symbols of what OTHERS sacrificed? NOT IF THE PAINT CHIP GUY IS JOHN KERRY! No-sir-ee! He proclaims his hero status from the mountaintop, (and the paint chip becomes shrapnel)! <<< Now 35 years later- someone claims to say that a honorable award is not deserved, and impunes the character of a man to serve as commander in chief. >>> The ultimate sacrifice vs. paint chip illustration would be better applied to Vietnam service vs. Air National Guard service than as used above. <<<*Character in fact counts--- >>> Agreed. What kind of "character" claims Catholic values and pushes for abortion and government funding of research on stem cells from destroyed unborn children. <<< *Let's see all the records of Lt.GW Bush laid out... >>> Fine, but let's do so NOT reading-MORE-between-the-lines than what's actually in print. When a fellow Air Guard witness from Florida comes forward to volunteer testimony that supports Bush's claims, don't discount him because his assertions don't fit the negative innuendo of those who hate the right. <<< Let's see how he got appointed to the Texas Air Guard... >>> Appointed?? My brother-in-law got into the Coast Guard in 1968. He was no fortunate privileged son. He is just a regular guy. He didn't want to go to Viet Nam so he signed up for the USCG and got in. He spent his "tour of duty" tending lighthouses and offshore buoys off the coast of Maine. <<< ...and let's ask why he didn't show up for his flight medical, or how it could just "slip his mind..." >>> Gee-Whiz! I suppose if I ever run for public office, the day may come when a particular group of people will look, with outrage, at the unthinkable lapse of moral character I exhibited when I missed my dentist appointment two weeks ago. The receptionist called me up to notify me. She didn't sound upset, but rescheduled me. I imagine her well concealed outrage was probably held in check imagining me someday running for public office and being tarred and feathered for my permanent record of this horrible transgression. (I'm hoping the Dentist doesn't keep records of incidental non-consequential stuff like the National Guard does...then again, Bush's detractors seem to be getting more mileage out of what's not there than what is.) <<<*I think as Sen.Mc Cain stands with the President.. he should wise him up to ethics in action. The divide is great in this comming election, and many hearts are raw. >>> No kiddin' about the divide and raw hearts! Much of it due to "ethics in action" like Michael Moore's slight-of-hand with the order of events and more slight-of-hand with motivations and implicit statements. He doesn't have to do it with mirrors because he's got the "cutting room floor". <<< The President should rebuke his attack dogs- >>> The Vets who have come forward at SWIFTBOAT.COM might resent being called Bush's attack dogs. -------------------------------------------- >>>-DPerich _______ List host: http://Kahunapule.org List info: http://RangerNet.org/faq.htm To unsubscribe, send "unsubscribe rangernet" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or visit http://RangerNet.org/subscribe.htm
