Please let's stop the political emails. They
are not on-topic for the mailing list as has
been stated in the
charter. Posts can be very devisive
without meaning too and divide us Rangers.
Although it's hard for some of us (including
me at times) to think that a Christian could support John
Kerry or another democrat with similiar
views, it happens. It also happens frequently. One
third of those attending church _more_ than
once a week voted for Al Gore last election
so they are clearly not a small fraction of
the population. Rangers who don't share our exact
political
views are no less Rangers (Christians, citizens, human beings, etc) than us.It's also
most likely that the candidates we support are shaped by different world views
and debate isn't
going to change our base world view.
Any time someone posts something
about a certain candidate,
it is going to upset others on the other
side. I responded to a post earlier this month myself that
had political overtones and attacked a
certain candidate, that offended someone a
lot and for that
I apologize. I don't want to be a part
of any strife on this mailing list. Instead I think we should be
posting reports of our outings, attendance questions, fundraising suggestions, prayer requests,
etc and not arguing about what so and so said years ago, etc.
