Did you all know that Jews are being born again like never before?  It used to be unheard of.  Nowadays, you hear about “Jews for Jesus” and “Messianic Jews” now and then, if not regularly.    There’s a preacher in FL named Syd Roth who has a radio show called “Messianic Vision”.  He’s full gospel, too! (Some of his radio show guests are amazing, but he sometimes has guests that are a little kooky.)  There’s also Marv Rosenthal, also in Florida, who operates the “Holyland Experience” that draws thousands of visitors monthly.   My favorite born-again Jew in the media though, is Zola Levitt from Texas.  Zola has a lot of wisdom and a unique viewpoint on world events that he sends out in his monthly “Levitt Letter”.

I highly recommend his web page:

His current Levitt letter can be found at:

Between those two links, you can explore around his site for other interesting information and points of view.

While I’m on the subject, this last Sunday was Pastor Appreciation Sunday at church.   We have five paid pastors on staff and by the time we got done with Praise and Worship and then honoring and kidding the pastors, the Senior pastor said he would preach the sermon next Sunday instead of running way over.  We DID get the sermon notes though.  Contained in the middle of those notes was the following information:

·         Jews make up only 2% of the U.S. Population, yet 45% of the top 40 of the Forbes richest Americans are Jewish.

·         One-third of all American multimillionaires are Jewish.

·         Twenty-five percent of all American Nobel Prize winners are Jewish.

·         The percentage of Jewish households with income greater than $50,000 is doubles that of non-Jews.

·         Forty percent partners at leading New York and Washington, D.C. Law firms are Jewish.

My mother has a couple of friends who are Jewish.  I don’t know them really well and I’m not sure if I should invite them next Sunday or not (I don’t have a clue what the point of the sermon is supposed to be.)   I think they’re non-religious but tend to be defensive and touchy about their “traditions”.  I think I’ll call Pastor Mark and warn him about what to expect of them.
