Speaking of secular governments...
My wife's ancestors played a part in keeping government from running the
church. Her maternal grandmother's name was Pauline Greenwood and she kept
a history of the family. Much of the earlier family history can be found
here:

A chapter regarding the church started by the followers of Rev. John
Greenwood, the first church to rebel against the Church of England can be
found here (also linked from the previous URL):

The first paragraph of this link is of particular interest.
Rev. Greenwood was executed by the Church of England.
He was responsible for the founding of Congregationalism or Puritanism.

Vox Populi vox Dei!

"The voice of the patrol is the voice of God"

This nation was formed by a rebellion to the Godly authority, and will
of the Monarch King of England with armed Rebellion!

The result is a secular government "We the patrol", by the Patrol,
for the Patrol.. in order to form a more "perfect union" under God.
