Yeah, well we'll see. The Civil Air Patrol  offers a program in conjunction with the Scouts and the next jamboree is going to literally be held in my neighborhood at Ft. A.P. Hill. My Squadron gets to assist with the Jamboree and I haven't heard Satan's Mongers complaining about that yet.  The last Jamboree had an unfortunate death occur when a 17 year old was driving a hum-vee and it flipped over.  The Army didn't like that too much and had some Senators pass along some regulations regarding that. The Boy Scouts may be sponsored by churches but they are not a church. They are an organization. The Rangers are sponsored by mostly A/G churches and comprise of people mostly of the A/G denomination which can be considered the church for these purposes because everything goes back to the A/G HQ in Springfield. Many different denominations sponsor scouts, so how can one say that they are a church? They're not.  Kudos to the BSA for taking a stand on what's right. Shame on the Army for caving in. This sounds like a Job for our advocate down at the ACLJ.

Subject: [RR] Boy Scouts attacked by Satan-- again

I dont know how many of you heard about it, but Satan and his minions at the ACLU are at it again.  The US Military caved in and agreed to enforce its rule not to officially sponsor Boy Scout Troops.  The ACLU sued because sponsoring the Boy Scouts was violating the separation of Church and State idea that the Supreme Court established a few years back.  The ACLU has specifically targeted the Boy Scouts of America because they took a stand and discharge homosexual Scout Masters and insist the all scouts include God in the scout pledge.  The reports I read downplayed the short term effects of this plea agreementthe scout troops have switched sponsorship to VFW posts or something else.  However, it may have a tremendous impact in the long termespecially regarding Jamborees.

As an Eagle Scout, I am proud of the BSA and the stands they have made.  As a Gold Medal of Achievement earner and longtime RR commander, I believe Royal Rangers is the better program because it does a better job preparing a boy to be a Man of God.  However, when I was in scouts, one of the district officers told me that 40% of all scouts enter a Church for the first time as a result of Scouts.  We as a Church need to be supporting them in prayer and financially when possible.  Boy Scouts is another tool that God uses in this world to prepare boys for eternity.  I pray that the Holy Spirit will break the hearts of lawyers at the ACLU and strengthen the backbone of the Military commanders at the Pentagon!

BTW, this is yet another reason we need a true believer in the Whitehouse.  The courts must stop creating laws and quit messing around with there social experiments.
