I received this from a friend
downunder, he could use our prayers right about now.
Jim Hufferd
Hi again! Please excuse my
impersonal approach. I'm sending this out to our email friends. I
really would like to hear back from you...
MISSION STATION
Our little church, Church For You, meets at 3
Kirk Street, Elizabeth Park, South Australia 5112. We're an independent
baptist church, intent on reaching souls for Christ in a needy area.
We're small in number, yet we've sought
to actively reach our neighbourhood. And so we've used mini-buses to
collect many children, who come along to hear God's Word. Thank
God, many children have trusted Christ. Largely from underprivileged
homes. It would break your heart to hear some of the stories of these
young people and the kind of lives they lead. Their only hope is
Christ.
OUR SITUATION
We are in earnest prayer to the Lord. As
things stand, purely from the human standpoint, we cannot continue to
operate. Fuel and operating costs are way beyond us. We're
sacrificing, yet we are not meeting the need. Souls are being won,
plucked as brands from the burning. Sometimes I feels like we're
missionaries on the field without any support.
PRAY WITH US
To be frank... Does God want this church to
continue? I am asking God to shut the door or open
it. Please pray with us. It's hard yakka, to use the Aussie
vernacular. I am willing to soldier
on.
We could get rid of the buses, but I cannot give up
the children. The people we have are working and giving as best they
are able. People have left the church - am I doing something wrong?
Sometimes the only feedback you get as a pastor is criticism and
discouragement.
I am trying the best way I know how to shepherd the
sheep and minister Christ to the people in a balanced and caring way, whilst
encouraging godliness and truth. I'd be glad to know what you would do, if you were in this
situation?
I'm sorry to bother you with this. I'm just
being brutally honest today. All I'm asking for is for you to pray with
us, and maybe you have an idea that can help us?
God bless you! Thanks for
listening!
