Speaking of "Skipping Christmas", I believe that the Movie, "Christmas with the Kranks", is based on this book. Good Movie by the way.

It has been to quiet. I figured it would get quiet once the Troll alert went out. I hate being a troll but if it is a troll I am than so be it. One thing. I am a born again Rompin Stompin Child of the King Troll. GRIN!15 years ago...I ran a 3 node BBS bulletin board for a few years. Every now and then we would have a troll alert...everyone would go off licking their wounds then someone would stoke up the fire and everyone would gather around the fire and rekindle the flame that brought them their in the first place. It is no difference now. We still have the same folk. Some folk take things too personal some don't know when to be quiet. Others leave cause they don't like turmoil and then some just ignore the whole thing and get back to the business at hand. They come and they go. Christian or not it really makes little difference. People are still people. Jesus is still in the saving work and I would amagine he just shakes his head at us just like he did his Disciples who spent 3 years one on one with him seeing things first hand and yet still being folk still had our quirks. This last couple of years has been tough on me as well. Working all the time. Having to drop out of Rangers at the Outpost weekly level. Then this last month steping down as a Sectional Commander simply due to the fact that there wasn't enough time left in a day to even take care of the family let alone Rangers. The new program adds to the stew as new things take longer to figure out and sometimes it don't take much more to get a good guy down. Doom dismay and agoney on me... deep dark depression excessive miseary.... NOT TODAY!!!I got about 5 days off in a row. Went through the garage then went through the workshop. Both organized, cleaned up and ready for a Pinewood Derby Crafting. Even found tools that had been missing for a few weeks... (a 11 year old son) :) Christmas is just days a way and God has really blessed this year.My wife just finished reading "Skipping Christmas" to me. We had a lot of fun reading that book together. It's very humorus. It also does a great job of showing people as they really are and how they can come together even with differences.I hope Jesus Comes soon. Wouldn't that be wonderful! Until he does lets stir up the Royal Ranger Spirit and get things moving.About 4 churches are heading off to the BIG Bat Cave for a over night campout in January... I hope to be in on that! It's a hoot! A few years back we saw 5 boys saved at that event. Glory be to God!Mark Jones, Spfd. South Section Area Commander.p.s.Bat Cave Pictures can be seen at... http://mark.rangernet.org/index.html well..there not there but I will hunt them down and post them in a few.
