A question was asked... How did the bat cave camp out go?

We had a great time. We had 4 Outposts show up. 40 Rangers a few bats a few pigeons that were roosting in a hole in the top of the cave.

I did my normal lets see if we can freeze tonight vigil. I sleep back into the cave about 200 feet.. http://readyrangers.tzo.com/batcave2005/DSCF1736.JPG
it was a might cold not bad with the right gear. I was well prepared to stay warm...grin! I warned everyone who wanted to sleep out there it would be cold.... up in the upper rooms it was nice all you needed was a long sleeve shirt. http://readyrangers.tzo.com/batcave2005/P1010143.JPG

It was much warmer this time at the face of the cave. Walking back to the busses was a different story. 30 to 60 mile per hour gust at 20 degrees made for a real bite. One of the commanders cars was hit by a huge tree limb that we had to drag out of the way before we could exit the property. My basketball goal at home was blown over and several trees in Springfield were blown over as well.

I have never lived in a place that had deep enough snow to make a real snow fort. As a kid I made a few igloo's just big enough to get inside them. We have hardly had 2" of snow so far...I am hoping for 24" of snow...grin!

I setup my new 4 season 6 man expedition tent this weekend and I and my son and his ranger buddy camped outside 2 nights ago. My wife and my son are outside camping in it last night with the aid of a small electric heater. We have had 2 days of rain... and it is nice and dry inside the tent. I bought a air bed at Wal-Mart and one of those queen size jobs with the motor built in and while I was napping out there a seam started to open and I awoke almost lying on the floor. grrr. So at 10 at night I took it back to Wally world and got a better air bed.

http://readyrangers.tzo.com/index.html has a whole lot more Rangers and then some.

I just put up a new link to a audio file that was produced by Revival Time/Master Plan a radio ministry that the AG started in 1994 (the program is no longer on the air and I don't think the tapes are available any more) this audio file 22 minutes long is me and my wife talking to a narrator who then uses it as a testimony. If you have someone who is having problems with their marriage it will encourage them. It's a moving tape. I still tear up and get all goose bumpy when hear this audio and remember those days. That's been 13 years ago. This rompin Stompin Child of the King says "There's Victory in Jesus, my Savior forever"

I think it is working! Time to celebrate with a root beer float, vegemite sandwich, and some grits, maybe?

What is the most encouraging thing you have to say to Royal Rangers and commanders today?
