There are born-again, Spirit-filled Catholics. I know some of them. There
are a couple that attend our A/G church alternately with their own Catholic
church. There are a larger number (at least a dozen) of former Catholics in
our church that grew up in a Catholic church and didn't find the Lord until
they heard the Gospel for the first time outside of their own church.
(Different Catholic church, I think.) The latter group steers clear of any
Catholic Church nowadays.
I was once in a discussion about the differences between Christianity as I
know it and Catholicism with an unsaved (but religious) Catholic fellow I
used to work with. The discussion centered around Jesus' mother Mary.
I told him, "You know how Jesus came NOT from wealth and high society and
jewels and expensive robes and servants but, instead, from the family of a
simple carpenter and from a simple town, born in a manger as his family went
to pay taxes?"
"Yeah", he said.
"Well", I said, "His mother, Mary, was part of THAT. She contributed the
humble part that the rest of us have...the fallible human part. Jesus'
perfection, his wisdom, his love for the world, came from his heavenly
father which superseded his human nature." Mary was more of a part of the
rest of us.
The song, "How should a king come" became popular a few years later on
Christian radio stations at Christmas time.

Food for thought as I sit here reading my emails.

Sure the future is interesting. However, don't we believe that the
rapture will occur before the tribulation? Don't we believe in the
imminent return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ? Then why are we
concerned with more than "Reaching, teaching and keeping boys for Christ"?

Not saying I do not like a good discussion about cults, which is where I
place the Catholic Church; but I feel sorry for the people of the
Catholic faith. I agree with whoever said we need to pray for them. But
we need to pray for their salvation just as we need to pray for Saddam's
salvation. God created us all. God loves us all. John 3:16-17. But we as
beings created in god's image have a choice to make, we either accept
the Bible as the whole truth or not. We either accept Christ into our
hearts on a personal level and not through a confessional box or not.

One of the great demises of the "Christians" today is the very fact that
_we_ have become very complacent with other people's feelings. HOGWASH!
The Bible was written in black and white. There is only way to get to
heaven...period. Anyone teaching or supporting any other way should be
considered a wolf in sheep's clothing. It is time that Christians need
to stand up and be heard!
