I love the way my friend Jened is so single minded. He's just the kind of guy we need up front on a tail ride. I can hang back and eat his dust, pick my Banjo and smile.
My Dad just passed, and one of the few things I got in a box was a small flag and a Royal Ranger uniform. On my Dad's Oregon dist. shirt was the four metal LTC course work pins from the Old program, a blue ribbon with white border and a Original Frontiresman Camping Fraturnity pin. The flag I got was a 48 star flag about the sive of a small kerchief. *This flag was carried in 1918 by a US Soldier in WW1 in France tucked into his new testiment, That soldier was my Uncle who in 1942 gave it to my Dad.. who also tucked in his Bible and carried it through WW2. Along about 1971 the flag was given to a young American sailor, who carried it in his bible thru a war in asia. A 20 year old Man now lives in the home where the flag is proudly displayed. He's earned the GMA #3911 and Eagle Scout and now is accepted to university with plans for a future.. *All of us returned, unharmed and built a life. *Of the FCF pins I own.. Two were awarded by the founder of Royal Rangers to charter members. Three more were awarded to a boy who returned as an adult and joined the FCFellowship through to Wilderness. Another trivial token on the wall is a plaque.. *Thanking Sr.Commander Duane Wheeler for 10 years of service to Glad Tidings Church in Royal Ranger ministry. Rangernet was started during that time. *No my friend..no troll here- I'll stay back here in your dust. -=A=- _______________________________________________ The Golden Rule is my daily rule.
