In Oregon auto's that get in excess of 50 mpg do not need to pass any enviromental smog check.. altho they do need to be street legal, and carry insurance. Tube frame.. alumimum plate floor VW front end and Geo-Metro power,... mounted mid engine.. behind passengers w/automatic trans by mateing to '68 up IRS VW rear arms via CV joints. disk brakes and 13" radial tires... "Body" to be made of windsurf sail nylon and mylar.. attached with straps and velcro. windscreen of polycarbonate/lexan polyrace seats with 4 point harness.. 60 Miles per gallon+ and quarter mile speed of 16 sec's and top speed of 87mph! Unlimited economy when running downhill! 20 gal tank gives this ride a 1,200-1,400 mile range! @ $5.00 US gal of "gaso-alcho-Hot sause" = .08 cents a mile!
