It came to my mind last night, right before going to bed (it always happens
that good ideas pop up in my mind right when I'm busy praying, walking,
driving, eating; just about any time when I'm not supposed to get distracted)
an idea that has to do with Ranger bucks (especially for those who are using
this program in their outpost). It works this way; you would track the progress
of each boy individually, and at the end of the month you would decide who has
the highest score (or say more Ranger bucks)..to be the "Ranger of the month".
This could also be done by patrols. And as a way of recognition, you would put
the picture of these great achievers on the face of the Ranger bucks, maybe the
picture of the best patrol on the other side. Perhaps you can do it by levels,
say first place get to be on the $20 bill, second place on the $10, and third
place on the $5 bill, this way the boys have more opportunities to win....Here
is a link of two files I uploaded as samples. Here is a link
that can give you an idea of what I'm talking about. The picture of the ranger
on the back of the bill is an ancient picture of me (back in the days when
snakes used to talk and walk in two feet :) The front face of the bill has a
picture of my outpost, also quite a while ago...

Trying to track the origins of the Ranger buck program, I came across this
website. I wonder if this has anything to do with RR...

I also had thought about a program to recognize leaders; something like the
"Commander of the month" or something of that effect. I'm still thinking about
the criteria for evaluating leaders...any ideas?
As you can see, I truly believe that recognizing people encourages them to
excel in what they do. However, I also know that we don't do what we do for the
sake of recognition, but for the Kingdom of God, and for His glory.

BTW, for those of you who are not very familiar with the Ranger Bucks
program, you can download it from Commander Mark's website:

webpage)

Any ideas and additional input are greatly appreciated,

Thanks for the report! I have found the same thing to be true in our
outpost. Its easy and fun. I don't know who originated the Ranger Buck idea
but it was indeed a good one.

Merry Christmas to you too, Mark. And, thank you for the great cursor; I
downloaded it and I love it! BTW, I want tou to know that ever since I
implemented the Ranger bucks program in my outpost (using your program) the
boys seem to be a lot more motivated to do many things that otherwise they
wouldn't try to do on their own. Keep up the good work bro!
