INCREASE IN 1999; REMAINS CHINA'S LARGEST AIRLINE; 21ST CONSECUTIVE YEAR
Guangzhou, China - China Southern Airlines, the largest airline in The
People's Republic of China ("China Southern" or the "Company") is pleased
to announce its annual results for the year ended December 31, 1999. During
the period under review, operating revenue was approximately RMB 13
billion, an increase of 12.2% over the same period last year. Profit
attributable to shareholders was over RMB 82 million and profits per share
was RMB 2 cents.
China Southern and its subsidiaries are one of the largest airline
companies in China. During the period under review, China Southern
continued to rank first among all Chinese airlines in terms of passengers
carried, number of weekly scheduled flights, flying hours, number of routes
and size of air fleet.
