Iyo mandalam bana kaji Cik Uniang surang ko.
Sayangnyo Cik Uniang iko indak mambahas kendala-kendala utama nan bersifat
verbal dialami oleh mahasiswa Minang dalam baraja bahaso Inggirih.
Contoh-e dalam babahaso Indonesia, dek dalam bahaso Minang indak ado huruf
"e" pepet, akibat-e urang awak agak payah mambedaan huruh "e" biaso jo huruf
"e" pepet tu.
Baitu pulo dalam bahaso inggirih. Kecek kawan (we-e ughang ameghika) nan
maaja bahaso inggirih di ELS Padang, dalam babahaso Inggirih, urang awak ko
agak payah dalam:
- mambunyian huruf konsonan 's' di balakang kato jamak, contoh-e: 'tasks',
'pens', etc.
- mambunyian huruf konsonan ganda. Contoh-e: "and" biaso-e dilafazkan sbg
"en" tanpa membunyikan huruf 'd' dibelakang kata. 'Task' dilafazkan se jadi
'tas', tanpa mambunyian huruf 'k' di balakang kato.
- Dek pengucapan huruf 'k' dalam kato yang berakhiran 'k' dalam bahaso
Minang, urang awak biaso-e membunyian-e dengan lamah. Contoh-e: kato "lamak"
biaso-e dilafazkan dengan lama' (pakai 'hamzah'). Akibat-e, kelemahan dalam
huruf 'k' iko mempengaruhi pengucapan kato-kato sejenis dalam bhs Inggirih
(juga kosa kata Bahasa Indonesia). "Like" dibaco: lai'
Urang Minang kalau babahaso Indonesia, biaso-e bisa diidentifikasi dari
pengucapan huruf 'e' dan huruf 'k' .
Mungkin Mak Sati nan tiok hari basitungkin jo Bahaso Inggirih di UNP bisa
manyigi-nyigi ulang kajian Cik Uniang iko.
