Berdasarkan usulan komunitas muslim di AS, kantor pos di nagari
Mamak Sam ko menerbitkan prangko seri "EID" bertuliskan Eid Mubarak
dalam kaligrafi Arab nan rancak. Kalau ado sanak nan hobby mangumpua
prangko, silahkan agiah alamtnyo, supayo bisa ambo kirim surek
dengan prangko itu.

Prangko itu diluncurkan beberapa minggu sebelum tragedi WTC. namun
jadi lebih populer setel;ah musibah itu, karno ado urang anti Islam nan
mamplesetkan dengan membaco EID tabalaik. Ado sajolah.

Make Our Eid Stamp Permanent

(WASHINGTON, DC - 10/02/2001) The American Muslim Council strongly encourages everyone to continue to purchase the Eid stamp that has been available at post offices nationwide since September 1, 2001.

The Eid stamp serves as a reflection of Islamic history in the United States. The United States’ Postal Office receives 60,000 letters requesting stamps and only 30 stamps are selected and issued each year. Since 1996, the issuance of this stamp has been the main priority of AMC, and its grassroots’ efforts, it is now a reality.

The Eid stamp is an important stepping stone for the recognition of Islam and Muslims in the U.S. The U.S. Postal Office reports that if a new stamp is re-issued three times, it will then become a permanent part of the United States Holiday Collection. In order for this Eid stamp to mark the American history, Muslims should encourage their family members, friends, relatives, neighbors, co-workers and others in their communities to continuously buy this stamp. It serves as a great gift for the upcoming Eid holiday in December.

The Eid stamp commemorates the two most important Islamic festivals in the Islamic calendar: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
