Transitions Programme

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER/ASSISTANT

The National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) is a

nonprofit organisation working to strengthen and expand democracy worldwide.

NDI provides practical assistance to civic and political leaders advancing

democratic values, practices and institutions. Since 1996, NDI has

conducted a variety of democracy assistance programmes in Indonesia with

democratically oriented political parties, elected officials and civil

society activists. The US Agency for International Development funds NDI

programmes in Indonesia.

The NDI Transitions Programme Team works to support a range of Indonesian

partner organisations in the areas of constitutional reform, political law

reform, and the development of regional autonomy and decentralisation.

The Transitions Programme Team is looking for support for the team's

administration at Team Administrative Officer/Assistant level to undertake

the following tasks:

* Participation in the organisation of events, seminars and workshops being

held by the Team and its local partners. This may include evening or

weekend work

* Ensuring that the administrative needs of the Team are met

* Maintaining and enhancing the database (Microsoft Access) of key programme

contacts

* Drafting of reports in English on Team activities

* Completion of Team financial data including projections, drawdowns and

reconciliations

* Acting as the contact point for the Team

* Translation of documents

* Other tasks as from time to time specified

The successful applicant will need:

* to be fluent in spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia and English

* to be computer literate with fluency in at least Microsoft Word and

Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Microsoft Access would also be an advantage.

* to be able to work effectively under pressure and against deadlines

The post will be based in the NDI office, Jalan Cik Ditiro 37A PAV, Jakarta

Pusat.
