Tonight the moon will look its largest ever in 18 years as it reaches its perigee or point in its orbit closest to earth. This unique lunar phenomenon, dubbed the supermoon, will be visible from Indonesia on Sunday at 2:10 a.m. Jakarta time, news portal tempointeraktif.com reported. "[The moon] will be 14 percent larger than a normal full moon when the moon is furthest from the earth," National Institute of Aviation and Space astrologist Thomas Djamaluddin said. The moon will be 30 percent brighter as well. Bosscha Observatory astronomer Evan Irawan Akbar added that smaller telescopes would be suitable for observing the phenomenon. He said the phenomenon could be seen without special tools as well as long as the skies were clear tonight.
