That's also my impression so far. But as 3.8 is going to be the *last* 3.8
relaese, this is likely to change. We should not get stuck in 3.x. However,
for the upcoming release, the Workbench and JFace bundles delivered with
RAP will still be based on 3.x. That's a given.

Wouldn't A) break the nice single-sourcing story for 3.x RCP apps?

That's the question. I think that with the compatibility layer in Eclipse
4, single sourced applications could also be built on RAP 1.5 / RCP 4.2
using the 3.x APIs. As long there are no incompatible changes in 4.2, it
should be possible to keep our bundles compatible with 4.2 - just thinking
aloud, I'm not perfectly sure...
