Good day,

We're using RAP since ca. 6 years - I've started with RAP 1.4. We had no major problems until now, and the bug reports were worked very well (thanks!)

We are mixing RAP and self written JS very heavily - e.g. for plotting (using d3). We use the browser widget for this, which are nothing more than iframes on the client side. One could write native RWT widgets as well, but we didn't need it yet.

I evaluated GWT 2011/2012 as well, but here a lot more things are running on the client side. With RAP on the other hand you can program "normal SWT code" which work in RCP _and_ RAP. With the whole environment (Window builder etc.).

GWT (as well as SpringMVC) are a lot more low level. With RAP, you simple put Widgets etc., which with GWT you need to design a protocoll between client & server first.

RAP = Web Framework + RCP Port:-)

Best regards,
Michael Fritscher
