community.

As for your questions about rat code base, it is important step to
check it out. I envision cut&paste detector as a separate rat module
with the same maven-based build system. You code all things from
scratch and put into a separate upper level directory.

As for your question about required skills, this level of problem
solving is required to participate in any open source project. You are
welcome to submit a patch to the web site with URL correction - this
is a good test of proper skills. Here is a guide to incubator we site
patching [1]. To the best of my understanding you should patch the
files [2], [3]. In addition to repository maintenance skills you need
java coding skills and project proposal writing skills to succeed.
