Assuming lazy consensus, I've requested the staging website now to be published, see:

  https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-3530

Just add "a img { border: none; }" to the css.
That should remove borders form all linked images.

Done, thanks!

And it works - great stuff!

I can still see the same problem on FF4. its looks good on Crome and
Safari. Attached is the screenshot. i tried cleaning the history also
but
that did not even help.

Please chime in if you have further improvements or disagree on

It looks great. Well done Ate and Rolf.

The incubator logo looks a little odd with the "hyperlink box"
around
it.
I've no time to fix it right now, but will do so if its not fixed
next time
I go to the site.

I don't see a hyperlink box. However the incubator logo-image does
contain a
black border (in the image itself, not as a css property) perhaps
that's
what you mean? fixing that requires editing the image.

I see it in FF4 and IE8 on windows, but not in Chrome.

Ross

Ah, it's a browser issue, I didn't see it in FF4, Saf or Chrome on
OSX.

Not sure about the browsers here, but for me both in FF4 and Chrome
(Linux) I had this border. Just put back a single pixel light grey after
clearing it before. Too me it now seems pretty OK.

Ross

I'm stopping with further tweaking for now, so anyone willing to
take
over, please go ahead!

Took a little longer than expaected, but I've described
changes
(incl
css,
img's and examples) in
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RAVE-7

I'll take an hour or so to note down styling improvements

I'll mail them by the end of the day

That would be very nice. I am by no means a designer.

I agree we need to take it live ASAP; however, before we do,
there
are a
couple of content and style issues that I think might need
some
attention.

Content:
1) The mailing list info is now duplicated in the Get
Involved and
Mailing
list sections. It should only be in Mailing lists and
linked
from
Get
Involved
2) The main description still has our AWESOME acronym
hidden
in the
beginning. For people who don't know where we came from, it
might
be a
bit jarring.

Style:
1) I don't think the site colors visually integrates
with the
logo
very
well

I am going to try and take on all three of these issues
today,
(assuming
people agree) but I am pretty busy most of the day. If
someone else
wants
to beat me to it, feel free.

On another note, is there an easy way to build the site
locally and
test
it?

Hi all,

I noticed the Rave website is not live yet so went through
the
pages

and

made
a few tweaks and I think it's good enough to be live
the way
it is
now
[1].

Most important thing missing is the wiki that has not been
created
yet.
Do I create an INFRA issue for that? And how can we get
the
site
live?
(provided nobody objects to publishing it the way it is)

Sander
