Those of us at ApacheCON just completed a discussion session regarding the
overall Rave roadmap and the goals for the hackathon. I will send out a
summary of the roadmap discussion later today, but I wanted to make sure I got
the hackathon goals out to the list so that people can start working on
implementing them.

Based on the discussions, the group identified 3 main areas that we can make
significant headway on in the next two days:

1) Start a core Rave model that can be extended by widget providers. For
example, move the base person definitions from the Shindig SPI implementation
to the Rave components. This would include all the core attributes of a person
as well as their "friends". The User class can then extend this person and we
can define an OpenSocialPerson that has the additional, Shindig-specific
attributes.

2) Add in a mobile view of Rave that lever Spring Mobile to route to a mobile
specific view

3) Complete a basic implementation of the Page Layout that defines a set of
default widgets, region widths/positions and renders the page appropriately.

After lunch, we will be taking on each of these tasks in small groups. If
anyone not here would like to participate, we can create Google hangouts to do
remote collaboration.
